Ep. 10 – The Places That Scare You + Metta Meditation

In this episode, Deb shares on the book, The Places That Scare You: A Guide to Fearlessness in Difficult Times by Pema Chödrön. This will be the next book in the Peaceful Wellness Mindful Book Group. In the book, Pema Chödrön offers guidance for coping with the difficult moments in our lives–showing us how we can soften our hearts and open us to greater kindness. Deb cites her own protective walls that were built tightly around her from prior abuse, trauma, hurt, betrayal, grief and more. She realized that not only did the walls keep her safe but also it kept others outside. Through practice, she realized how precious her own heart really was. Once the heart is liberated by compassion, we can begin to treat our suffering with gentleness and tenderness. Are you ready to cultivated kindness? Included in this episode is a Metta (Loving-Kindness) meditation. Learn more at peacefulwellness.org and mindfulbookgroup.com
